SWEET CHERRY

CHERRY HAS A BEAUTY THAT IS HARD TO DESCRIBE. NOTE THE GREAT CONTRAST BETWEEN THE DARKER HEARTWOOD AND THE LIGHTER, OUTER SAPWOOD. HARDER THAN BIRCH BY FAR, IT SUBSEQUENTLY CAN BE A CHALLENGE TO TURN. FRESH CUT CHERRY WILL ALSO "MOVE" CONSIDERABLY, BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT MAKES EACH BOWL UNIQUE AND ENHANCES THEIR BEAUTY.

CHECK OUT:

  • SEVERAL FLAT, THIN BOWLS IN THIS COLLECTION

  • "LIPPED" OR "LIDDED" BOWLS

  • SOME SMALL BOWLS THAT LEND THEMSELVES TO BUTTER OR JAM

  • THE RATIO OF DARK TO LIGHTER WOOD IN VARIOUS BOWLS

  • SOME LARGER BOWLS THAT HAVE MOVED CONSIDERABLY DURING THE DRYING PROCESS
